The mudflap brackets on an Evora are Zinc Plated Mild Steel.
Not a problem as such, but due to the material used in the wheelarch liners the brackets remain moist for a long time after being exposed to rain etc.
The picture of the yellow A-panel with the rusted bracket is from a car which has barely done 12000 miles, only used as a summer car and never exposed to road grit!
We have had reports from people who did use their cars in salty conditions where the brackets were turned into dust. One owner reported he had lost both mudflaps which is how he found out about this problem.
Time for a better solution which will last forever: the elise-shop.com Stainless Steel Mudflap Brackets!
Not only are the brackets made from Stainless Steel, the M5 nuts are made from Stainless Steel as well.
All you need to do is remove the old brackets, install these and you’ll never see any corrosion problems or completely loose your Mudflaps while driving..
