After Magneti Mirelli decided to stop producing the original shape Elise S1 alternator, all that was left in that shape was either a Chinese pattern part or the Bosch 85Amp unit which have been used on the Elise S2.

This was all fine until Bosch decided to close their factory and not soon after that we saw Chinese copies coming in there as well.

Although we did secure a large number of original Bosch units we were quite aware that we would run into trouble sooner or later as the Chinese parts simply are not able to cope with the K-series engine. Although cheap is good, breaking down at very low mileage is not that good..

Denso has been producing high end and very reliable alternators for many years. These units have successfully been used for several large volume OE manufacturers.
Now.. we've found a way to use them as well..

We can finally offer larger capacity with better reliability!

Larger capacity doesn't necessary mean the alternator need to deliver more power. Larger capacity means you've got more headroom and that means the alternator will produce less heat while regulating the power.

The connectors have also been redesigned in such a way that you will be able to run ring connectors rather than a specific (and bulky) connector such as being used on the S2.

These Denso units are a replacement unit but do not directly fit on aircon cars. The bracketry on these cars is different, so you would have to include a spacer to make this work.

Please make sure you're using some sort of heatshielding in between the alternator and the exhaust manifold. We can highly recommend the use of TeknoFibra Rigid Heatshield
