An Air to Oil cooler kit is one of the cheapest available oil cooling options.
As you might be aware of, the oil in your engine is only cooled by the coolant flow in the head. The bottom end isn’t cooled at all. The K-series was designed as a front wheel drive engine (in the front of the car). The sump was supposed to be in the airflow.
In the Elise, the sump is neatly tucked away in the enginebay where there’s hardly any air flowing..
Cooling the oil generally means you are extending the life of your engine. It will help to keep the oil temperature in an acceptable range and will prevent you from getting overheating problems.
An air to oil cooler needs a thermostat to control the temperature of the oil (you want the oil at operating temperature, you don’t want it too cold). Our kit comes including this thermostat, built in the take off.
We deliver this kit including all fittings and the best stainless braided hoses we could find!
