Apart from not producing a lot of light, the original headlamps as used on the Elise S1 have another issue: They are not available any longer!
We’ve been looking at several solutions, ranging from different kind of halogen reflectors to completely custom solutions, but the biggest issue is to find something which produces a correct light pattern and has the correct approvals.
All of the headlamps in the right size came with motorcycle approvals (E-marks), which is not allowed to be used on cars in most countries.
LED has been something we’ve been following carefully, but up till recently we were not able to find a supplier which could offer a product with the above mentioned specs.
Up to now! These headlamps come with the correct E-marking (E24/E6) and a DOT/SAE marking. Apart from that.. they emit a correct light pattern!
With this kit, you can finally upgrade the headlamps on the S1, replace the ancient H4 lamps and stay legal as well!
The kit comes with stainless, powdercoated brackets to fit the headlamp on the existing mountings in the clamshell and is available with RHD or LHD light pattern.
The sidelights can be connected to the build in DRL feature (as seen in the images).
