Lotus always used standard flywheels for the Elise and Exige platform.
Readily available from Rover or Toyota is a lot easier, but it doesn’t do the car justice as the Elise or Exige is a lot lighter than your average Toyota road car!

Producing an as light as possible flywheel isn’t great either as that would make it rather impossible to drive the car on public roads. Symptoms start with so called kangarooing and end with an engine that simply refuses to run when you release the clutch in a normal way.

The trick is to find a good balance between performance and driveability.. We think we found just that with this flywheel!

Faster throttle response, improved driveability is what you can expect from this flywheel!
