When doing any work on the internals of a PG1 gearbox, changing the seals is absolutely necessary. Most of the oil shortage problems are being caused by leaking seals!
Like the engine, the gearbox needs oil to be able to run. Once the oil is below it’s minimum level, you will start seeing excessive wear and ultimately a completely seazed box…
This seal is for the left side of the PG1 box from 1996 onwards (C6BP 200009713 onwards)
