This Exige V6 and Evora (up to the Evora 400) rear two-piece brake discs combine the lightweight character with the safety of a proper steel brake drum for the handbrake.
As you may have noticed, the hand brake on a V6 powered Evora or Exige is integrated in the bells of the rear discs.
When you would change to 2-piece discs and use aluminium bells you would introduce a potential safety hazard.
When the handbrake is rubbing or when someone for whatever reason uses the handbrake whilst the car travels at high speed the disc bell could ultimately explode!
We designed a steel drum to go in the bell. This drum is able to dissipate the heat, it will not wear too fast and will give you a safe braking system whilst still using the lightweight ali bell!
Doing our own design meant we could optimize weight and we were able to design the optimal internal vane design.
This results in better cooling. The vanes are handed of course, so rather than just an optical feature, these are proper handed discs with correct airflow on both sides.
These discs weigh 7.45kg each which means they’re one of the lightest discs on the market.
We have chosen to have the aircraft grade aluminium bells anodised in silver to create a more OE-like look. Apart from that, silver absorbs less heat.. every little bit counts!
The bell design also improves airflow, which again means better cooling. All discs supplied have been torqued up using the correct torquing procedure.
Mechanical dimensions are equal to the original brake disc design on the Evora up to the 400 and the Exige V6. There’s no need to make any modification to use these discs.
When these discs are worn, you don’t need to replace the complete kit, you can stick to replacing the rotors only.
