The original sump plugs seems to get rounded off after time, just because of the removing and re-installing whilst doing oil changes.
Also, the washers as used by Lotus and Rover originally were not the greatest one you could choose.. they’re known to start leaking.
The washer which is supplied with this sump plug has a rubber internal ring which stops the oil from squeezing through.
Why not install a shiny new plug when you replace the oil of your beloved K-series?
